The SLR will give more shooting options but we have taken people with just cell phones, and they have had a great time and taken beautiful pictures. Personally though if I had an SLR, I would bring it for the tour since you will be with a Photographer for 5.5 hours and they can help you with technique, composition and get you excited about using your camera!

Aloha! Yes we do have availability on the 18th of October. Our group tours have no more than 7 people even though our vans hold 11. We would pick you up from the ABC Store which is about 12 to 15 min walk from the ship. Anchor Cove shopping center does have a free shuttle that runs every 10 minutes from the ship.
