The Tigers were down a man after starting wing Chad Baker-Mazara was ejected due to a Flagrant 2 foul in the second half. The call was made after a review on a play where Baker-Mazara elbowed Alabama’s Chris Youngblood in the back of the head. Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl was asked after the game about the incident but avoided comment.

In the second half of the game, Auburn guard Chad Baker-Mazara was given a flagrant-2 foul after elbowing Alabama's Chris Youngblood in the back of the head underneath the basket. It is the second-most notable ejection of Baker-Mazara's career following his ejection in the early stages of Auburn's NCAA Tournament first round game last season with Yale,

Bruce Pearl on CBM's ejection: "What I'd like is for the first fouls to be called. I haven't seen the play so I can't comment on whatever happened there. Flagrant 2, this is his second time having it. We aren't as good a team without him." Pearl adds, "Chad can't do that."
