A former Duke football player allegedly stabbed his old high school friend to death after he started to appear and terrorize her outside of her home in an upscale North Carolina community.

A former Duke University football player was arrested on charges of murder and robbery in connection to the death of a North Carolina realtor and his former high school friend. According to reports, prosecutors allege he also confessed to killing her.

Former Duke football player Brandon Braxton confessed to the July 2024 murder of his high school friend, real estate agent Whitney Hurd. Investigators linked him to the crime months earlier, but he was only arrested after sending a chilling confession from jail in March 2025.
