Florida linemen have been working around the clock to restore power to residents across the Bay Area after Hurricane Milton. Almost a week after the storm slammed into the state, thousands are still without power.

In the wake of Hurricane Milton, Florida's linemen are confronting a new challenge: the swollen Withlacoochee River.

Irish expats living in Florida hardly slept throughout Wednesday night, with some considering themselves fortunate to be alive as Hurricane Milton, described as potentially “the worst storm to hit Florida in over a century”, carved its way across the state.

He is a Gadsden County native and a first-generation college graduate from Florida A&M University. Adrian is also a military veteran, ending his career as a Florida Army National Guard Non-Comissioned Officer.

Nearly a week after Hurricane Milton hit Florida, crews from Versant Power are continuing restoration efforts. Photos shared by the power company shows some of the destruction caused by Milton around Tampa.

The Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative shared the grueling conditions their linemen were enduring Tuesday to restore power in Brooksville, Florida, following Hurricane Milton.
