The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces confirmed an attack overnight that hit Russia's Ryazan Oil Refinery and the Ryazan Thermal Power Plant, leaving them ablaze Thursday morning.

Video footage taken on Jan. 23 shows an alleged drone attack conducted by Ukrainian armed forces attacking the Rostneft Oil Refinery in Ryazan, Russia by using many long-range kamikaze drones.

Ukraine drones hit an oil refinery east of Moscow in a mass attack on Russia, according to military sources. The oil plant in Ryazan, 120 miles south east of the capital, was targeted, as was a microelectronics production plant in Bryansk, western Russia, according to Ukraine’s military.

At least 10 powerful explosions were reported by residents shortly before midnight. Regional Governor Pavel Malkov claimed that “air defense and electronic warfare systems successfully destroyed the drones.

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces (SOS) struck the Ryazan Oil Refinery and the Ryazan Thermal Power Plant in an overnight drone strike on Jan. 24, an SBU source told the Kyiv Independent. The attack was later confirmed by the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.
