(Reuters) -World number two Carlos Alcaraz has joined the list of big names skipping next week's Canadian Open in Toronto with the Spaniard saying he needs to focus on recovering from muscle issues after losing to Jannik Sinner in the Wimbledon final.

Saying the tournament "comes just too soon for me as I recover after Wimbledon," Carlos Alcaraz pulled out of the Toronto Masters Monday, a day after Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic and Jack Draper withdrew from the hard-court event that begins next week.
