The United States Grand Prix was one of the worst of Lewis Hamilton's entire Formula 1 career as he qualified down in 19th and then beached his Mercedes in a gravel trap after just two laps

As Formula One returned to action following almost a month long hiatus following the Singapore Grand Prix, 7-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton is not having the best of weekends as he made an early exit in qualifying.

Earlier this week in practice Hamilton had a spin in Turn 3, something that might have been an indication that he was in for a difficult week here in Austin. In the early stages of the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix Hamilton spun off the track and into the gravel at Turn 19, bringing his day to a close on just the third lap of the race.
