Leading private sector lender is expected to report subdued growth in its bottomline for the September quarter, dragged down by weak loan growth, reflecting the underlying changes that the bank is undertaking to improve the credit-to-deposit ratio.

Private sector major HDFC Bank on Saturday reported 5 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) and 4 per cent quarter-on-quarter (q-o-q) growth in Q2FY25 net profit at ₹16,821 crore, aided by higher net interest income (NII).

HDFC Bank has reported a 5% year-on-year (YoY) increase in its net profit for the second quarter of FY25, reaching ₹16,821 crore. The figure surpasses the average estimate of ₹16,570 crore as projected by seven brokerages. Despite the ongoing economic challenges, India's largest private-sector bank has shown robust performance for Q2.

While the profitability of HDFC Bank is anticipated to remain steady, net interest margin (NIM) is expected to recover gradually.

On HDFC Bank said that its net profit for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2025 was Rs 16,820 crore, up 5% from Rs 15,976 crore during the same time the previous year.

Analysts are estimating the bank's Profit After Tax (PAT) to reach Rs 16,267.6 crore, which reflects a 1.9% growth compared to the previous year's figure of Rs 15,976.1 crore.
