According to the San Diego Police Department, the 31-year-old male sustained fatal injuries after crashing a stolen Jeep in a tree near Hospitality Point Park Friday morning.

The 2020 Jeep Wrangler, heading west on Quivira Way at a rate of high speed, left the road after hitting the east curb of a roundabout shortly before 5:30 a.m., according to San Diego police. The Jeep then entered a grassy area and hit the tree.

A 31-year-old driver died after he crashed a Jeep that had been reported stolen into a tree in Mission Bay Park on Friday, according to San Diego police. The incident was reported after the Jeep Wrangler struck a round-about curb and veered off the road around 5:25 a.m. on Quivira Way near Hospitality Point Park, Officer Jose Perales said.
