UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov knows a thing or two about last-minute opponent changes. Nurmagomedov, one of the best former lightweight champions in the sport, has become an incredible coach.

Arman Tsarukyan's nearly six-year journey to the UFC lightweight title will take a little longer. Tsarukyan suffered an injury two nights before challenging lightweight champion Islam Makhachev at UFC 311.

And if he does that, Makhachev puts himself in lightweight GOAT status. Standing in his way is top-ranked challenger Arman Tsarukyan. Makhachev is one of three fighters who will enter the Octagon from the same Russian gym.

Islam Makhachev said he isn’t concerned with being known as the greatest lightweight of all time. He does value setting records and earning his way into the UFC Hall of Fame.
