Oilers GM Reveals Where Things Stand with Connor McDavid's Extension originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Connor McDavid will be eligible to sign a contract extension with the Edmonton Oilers on July 1, but as of now, there has not been much movement toward a deal.

Edmonton Oilers general manager Stan Bowman said the team will engage in contract talks with Connor McDavid whenever he's ready.

Bowman said he is waiting for McDavid and his agent, Judd Moldaver, to initiate negotiations on a new contract. McDavid can become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, 2026.
