On Monday, the jury heard from the childhood friend of fired Massachusetts state trooper Michael Proctor, who read texts Proctor sent on the night of John O’Keefe’s murder. However, as ABC News’ Matt Gutman reports, sparks started flying when Monday’s second witness, a former Canton police officer took to the stand.

Read is accused of striking John O’Keefe with her Lexus SUV and leaving him to die alone in a blizzard in Canton.
