A driver was killed after crashing into a tree in the Mission Bay area Friday morning, said officials with the San Diego Police Department.

A 31-year-old driver died after he crashed a Jeep that had been reported stolen into a tree in Mission Bay Park on Friday, according to San Diego police. The incident was reported after the Jeep Wrangler struck a round-about curb and veered off the road around 5:25 a.m. on Quivira Way near Hospitality Point Park, Officer Jose Perales said.
