Russia said late last month that it had ejected Ukrainian forces from the Kursk region, putting an end to the biggest incursion into Russian territory since World War II.

U.S. President Donald Trump told European leaders that Russia’s Vladimir Putin is not ready to end his war on Ukraine because he believes he is winning, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, citing three sources familiar with the conversation.

Trump still wants to establish closer ties with Putin, and the White House will likely revisit the possibility of a meeting before long.
