World stocks were mixed on Wednesday following Wall Street’s mostly positive performance before key U.S. inflation data that could influence the pace of market-boosting rate cuts by the Federal Reserve.

Shares of Nasdaq Inc. NDAQ inched 0.09% higher to $76.25 Tuesday, on what proved to be an all-around great trading session for the stock market, with the S&P 500 Index SPX rising 0.11% to 5,842.91 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA rising 0.

Most U.S. stocks rose Tuesday following an encouraging update on inflation, though drops for Eli Lilly and other influential stocks kept indexes in check. The S&P 500 rose 0.1% as three out of every four stocks in the index climbed.
