Roper, leader of the NC State quarterbacks the past two seasons and previously in charge of the running backs, has experience as an offensive coordinator. He served that role at Duke from 2008-13, at Florida in 2014, and at South Carolina as co-offensive coordinator in 2016 and 2017.

Wolfpack coach Dave Doeren announced the firing of offensive coordinator Robert Anae on Monday after two seasons as the team's play-caller. Doeren promoted quarterbacks coach Kurt Roper to offensive coordinator in the move, also promoting offensive graduate assistant Gavin Locklear to tight ends coach.

Kurt Roper is once again an offensive coordinator in the Triangle. The NC State Wolfpack announced they promoted Roper, a former Duke coordinator, to that same position after five years on the program's staff.
