Protests took place in more than 1,500 cities on the same day that the president's birthday military parade, costing tens of millions of dollars, took place.

Protests are being organized in Tennessee and across the nation as President Donald Trump plans to celebrate his birthday with a speech after the U.S. Army's 250th anniversary parade on June 14.

Nearly 7,000 soldiers were set to participate in the largest military parade the city has seen in decades, which officials have estimated could cost up to $45 million.
