The Pittsburgh Steelers have been the only NFL team linked to four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers for weeks. Earlier this offseason, the future Pro Football Hall of Famer was informed of his release by the New York Jets and their new head coach and general manager.

Last year, the NFL gave Aaron Rodgers and the Jets a slew of early-season prime-time and short-week games because, as NFL V.P. of broadcast planning Mike North candidly admitted, "I feel like the Jets kind of owe us one.

At least one NFL executive believes the Pittsburgh Steelers' "meandering" approach to filling the quarterback position might work out for the franchise in the long term. The Pittsburgh depth chart is currently led by Mason Rudolph following the free agency departures of Russell Wilson and Justin Fields and the indecision of free agent Aaron Rodgers.
