Local leaders and residents from Dolton and Thornton Township are urging Illinois officials to take immediate action to remove Tiffany Henyard from her roles as mayor and supervisor.

It appears fists began to fly after Brown, an outspoken critic of Henyard, called her a expletive during a Thornton Township meeting Tuesday night. "I was going back to my seat and then come on, made his explanation of a threat and comment I went back and then they started a fight," Brown said.

The investigation by Lori Lightfoot details what Dolton residents and the news media have suspected all along: That Henyard, who's been defiant about the mess created under her watch, has likely misspent hundreds of thousands in taxpayer funds.

Those harsh words, spoken at a podium by a critic of Tiffany Henyard during a Jan. 28 Thornton Township Board meeting, preceded a brawl. Video shows Henyard joined in the melee. Security reportedly had to clear the room after the fighting intensified.
