SAN ANTONIO – A Venezuelan gang named Tren de Aragua has been making headlines lately in Texas. Most recently, four members were arrested in a multi-agency drug bust that took place at an apartment complex on San Antonio’s north side on Oct. 5.

In a predawn sweep in San Antonio, 20 individuals were detained — some believed to be members of the notorious Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua.

San Antonio police, with federal and state agencies, arrested 19 people, including four Tren de Aragua gang members, in a major operation.

The raid, which included local, state, and federal authorities, saw multiple Tren de Aragua members arrested after complaints alleging human trafficking, narcotics violations and violent threats against building staff were made at the apartment complex.
