The U.S. Customs and Border Protection has identified a mysterious balloon that fell from the sky in north Texas.

Strong winds from a recent storm in the south sent a US Customs and Border Protection surveillance blimp flying nearly 600 miles across Texas.

Wind blasts dislodged the aircraft from its moorings in South Padre. The blimp drifted all the way to the Dallas area, where it crashed into power lines.

Strong winds swept through Texas over the last few days, causing damage and, in one case, sending a blimp hundreds of miles across the state. A tethered aerostat system, which is a form of radar surveillance blimp used by Customs and Border Protection,
