The death of Miguel Uribe, two months after the attack against him, marks a return to the worst period of political violence in Colombia.

Miguel Uribe Turbay, a senator and presidential candidate, has died after spending two months in the ICU after being shot during a rally by a minor who was acting as a hitman.

Miguel Uribe, who was shot in the head at a campaign event two months ago, died at the age of 39, the hospital treating him said.
