After last week’s atmospheric river and a second fast-moving, spiraling storm passed through the Bay Area on Monday, cloudy skies were set to clear into the rest of the week before another brief rainstorm touches down Thursday and Friday.
Wind gusts that are expected to blow between 35 and 45 mph may be powerful enough to bring down trees and power lines and make driving additionally hazardous, according to the weather service. Some gusts in the upper elevations could get as high as 55 mph.
Wind speeds reached up to 80 mph in Marin County as part of a storm that came through the Bay Area on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
Bay Area residents better take out their umbrellas, and raincoats today and brace themselves for the season’s first atmospheric river.
A storm system is expected to bring moderate to heavy rain and gusty winds to the Bay Area starting Sunday night.

LATEST Nov. 13 12:20 p.m. A bomb cyclone off the coast of California was bringing heavy rain and winds to the northern part of the state Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. Dalton Behringer, a meteorologist at the weather service, said the current storm front dropped about 19 millibars within 24 hours.
