Before you can apply for an online passport renewal, you'll need to create a MyTravelGov account, which uses the government's login.gov system. If you don't already have a login.gov account, you can visit MyTravelGov, click on the blue Sign In button in the top-right corner, then click on Create an account.
On Wednesday, Apple launched its new Digital ID feature, having announced in June that it would debut as part of iOS 26. Travelers can now use their passports to create a Digital ID, which is valid for use at Transportation Security Administration checkpoints at over 250 airports. It is not currently eligible for international travel.
