Octave was a tropical storm in the North Pacific Ocean early Friday Pacific time, the National Hurricane Center said in its latest advisory. Octave is the 15th named storm to form in the Eastern Pacific in 2025.

Even closer to Florida and the U.S. is Invest 94L, which is forecast to become a tropical depression this week while near the Bahamas, according to the National Hurricane Center. The next named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season will be Imelda.

Forecasts for early October indicate that there's almost certainly more activity to come. On Oct. 2, two new potential storms were developing.
