There are tens of thousands of of homes in Ipswich in danger of flooding, one of the highest totals in England, new analysis shows.

Melbourne and Brisbane experienced one of the most intense weather events of the past year on Sunday, with powerful storms, flash floods, and widespread power outages.

The changes form part of a larger Empowering Councils Bill set to be introduced by the Queensland government later this year.

A warning has been issued following a series of flood alerts in place for parts of Suffolk. The flooding is possible from 10.30am to 12pm on Thursday due to high tides and forecast weather conditions.

The organisations said they will work together on large scale landscape restoration projects in three upland areas over three years.
