The Jets formally interviewed Ulbrich for their opening. Ulbrich was thrown into the role of interim head coach on Oct. 8 after Robert Saleh was fired. The Jets went 3-9 under Ulbrich and finished 5-12 overall. Ulbrich is very popular among the players and in the Jets’ building, but he is considered a long shot to keep the job.

Connor Hughes of SNY reported Sunday morning that the team was "out" on former head coach Rex Ryan for the team's head coaching role. "Rex Ryan I heard is completely out," Hughes reported. "That is not gonna happen with the Jets.”

The New York Jets are on the hunt for a new head coach and could be going back to an old friend to fill the vacancy. Rex Ryan, who coached the Jets from 2009-2014, completed his interview for his old position Tuesday.

It seems that Rex Ryan will not be returning to coach the New York Jets after all. Shortly after one of Gang Green’s targets, Mike Vrabel signed on to join the division-rival New England Patriots, a report from SNY’s Connor Hughes indicated that they were completely out on their former head coach,

But they did because they’re playing Houston! Former Houston Oilers defensive coordinator Buddy Ryan knew better than to dog the Houston football faithful. Unfortunately, his son Rex didn’t learn that lesson until this past Saturday.
