Rams fall to Falcons, 27-24: Final score, highlights, recap
The Los Angeles Rams dropped their second straight game on Monday night, losing to the Atlanta Falcons, 27-24. They nearly completed a 21-point second-half comeback, but they fell short after allowing a 51-yard game-winning field goal in the final seconds.
The Rams have a lot of bills due, especially with their legendary 2023 draft class set to open contract extension talks with the organization. Recently, Sports Illustrated's Gilberto Manzano and Matt Verderame ranked their top 50 impending free agents with two members of the Rams making the list.
Bijan Robinson rushed for 195 yards and one touchdown, and the Falcons took a 21-0 lead before a furious second-half rally by the Rams tied the game at 24 with 2:46 remaining in the fourth. But Zane Gonzalez made a 51-yard field goal with 25 seconds left for the game-winner.
Coach Sean McVay says it remains to be determined whether or not Higbee – who has missed the past five games with an ankle sprain – plays in Sunday’s regular-season finale against Arizona.
The Los Angeles Rams opened their practice week Wednesday in preparation for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals with a walkthrough and released their first injury report, so the injury status noted is an estimation of what it would have been if there was a regular practice. The Cardinals Rams also had a walkthrough.
Now, it’s on the Rams to make sure they haven’t lost themselves. That explains why, even though they say they don’t care about seeding (“I don’t care where we go. I don’t care who we have to play,” Turner said), they’re going to play their starters in Sunday’s regular-season finale against the Arizona Cardinals.
WOODLAND HILLS, Ca. The Los Angeles Rams are a team out of sorts and for an organization that has historically prioritized player health and rest in the past, head coach Sean McVay feels his team needs a bit more action to round out the regular season.
