Stephen King is one of the most popular authors of all time, but some of his longer books can feel daunting, making it hard to know if they’re actually worth the commitment it takes to read them.

Apparently, the publisher tried to get it into the Guinness Book of World Records in 2004 as "the longest novel ever," but was rejected on the grounds that the series wasn't under a single book cover.
