Another air traffic control equipment outage caused the FAA to implement a ground stop for Newark Liberty International Airport bound flights Sunday morning.

Staff shortages and equipment failures at Newark Liberty International Airport have raised safety concerns in recent weeks.

According to the FAA, a telecommunications issue at the Philadelphia TRACON (terminal radar approach control) Area C facility, which guides aircraft in and out of Newark, caused the agency to issue the 45-minute ground stop.

Greg Raiff, founder and CEO of Elevate Aviation Group, told Fox News Digital that under-invested infrastructure and major staffing shortages are disrupting flights at EWR, and the immediate solution is to decrease the number of flights while increasing recruitment.
