Stock indexes drifted to a mixed finish on Wall Street Thursday, as some heavyweight technology and communications sector stocks offset gains elsewhere in the market. The S&P 500 fell less than 0.1% after spending the day wavering between small gains and losses.

Asian markets were mixed on Tuesday after stocks in Wall Street shook off a choppy start to finish higher the previous day as it kicked off a holiday-shortened week. U.S. futures were little changed and oil prices rose.

U.S. stock futures were relatively unchanged Monday night after all three major averages kicked off the holiday-shortened trading week in the green. This comes amid what is expected to be a more toned-down week for trading activity.
