Zohran Mamdani has just been elected mayor of New York City and is already challenging President Donald Trump.

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that any Jewish person who votes for Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic nominee for New York City mayor, is "stupid." “Any Jewish person that votes for Zohran Mamdani, a proven and self professed JEW HATER, is a stupid person!!!” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

In a post Monday on Truth Social, President Donald Trump urged New Yorkers to vote for independent candidate and former Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo, saying residents have “no choice” but to back him. Trump also repeated a warning that he could withhold federal funds from New York City if Mamdani is elected.

Late Tuesday night, after Mamdani was declared the winner, the White House X account (formerly Twitter) posted “Trump Is Your President” in an image that resembled the Knicks logo. According to Front Office Sports’ Margaret Fleming, the Knicks contacted the White House and asked for the image to be removed, and it was deleted Wednesday.

The president backed Cuomo, who is running as an independent against Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani, instead of Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday he would ask Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy to again consider terminating the New York City vehicle congestion fee, more than five months after a federal judge blocked the effort.

Trump told Fox News that Mamdani gave "a very angry speech" on Tuesday night. The mayor-elect directly addressed Trump.
