A packed airplane was forced to make an emergency landing after two swans smashed into it and punctured the fuselage, according to a report.

Flight tracking services reported that Jet2 flight LS633 was forced to divert to Manchester due to the issue. The flight had departed from East Midlands Airport, but was forced to redirect shortly after take off ahead of the two-and-a-half hour flight.

Pilots on the Tui flight to Cape Verde issued a mayday call after striking the swans at 185mph, smashing the windscreen, the Sun reported.
