In Idaho, Big Hole Mountains and Bear River Range, Big Lost Highlands/Copper Basin, Sawtooth/Stanley Basin, and the Sun Valley region, as well as the Centennial Mountains have winter storm warnings in place until 5 a.m. MST Saturday, with up to 18 inches of snow forecast in parts.

Another round of snow in the forecast for parts of eastern Idaho
The National Weather Service in Pocatello is predicting another round of “heavy mountain snow” in eastern Idaho. In a weather brief sent to EastIdahoNews.com Saturday afternoon, the NWS says snow is expected early Sunday through Monday morning.
Rockslides and other challenges have presented themselves on Idaho roadways. Power outages also are being reported around the state.
The NWS advises caution over the Christmas period, with icy roads, blizzards and freezing rain making conditions hazardous.

4 Regions Most at Risk of Winter Storms This Christmas
The worst hit regions will likely be the northern tier and Poconos in Pennsylvania, upstate New York, and northern New England. Areas closer to the coast might still see precipitation, but most expect it will mostly be rain, drizzle, and potentially fog.
