Cooper Flagg’s NBA Summer League ends

It’s been a remarkable year for basketball prodigy Cooper Flagg, who was selected No. 1 overall by the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Draft this past June. Flagg appeared in two Summer League games for Dallas before being shut down—capping his brief stint with a 31-point performance that gave the Mavericks’ coaching staff all the confirmation they needed that he’s their next franchise cornerstone.
The 19-year-old guard recorded a double-double (16 points, 10 rebounds) along with four assists, a block, and a steal in 6 minutes of action. He was the game's leading scorer right behind teammate KJ Simpson, who logged 18 points and seven assists. Both Flagg and Knueppel had standout freshmen seasons at Duke last year.
