The legendary musician John Mayer revealed that one of his biggest inspirations was New York Mets superstar Francisco Lindor. Mayer, who has won seven Grammy awards during his music career and is also the frontman of Dead & Company, shared a touching tribute to the New York shortstop for his effort during the MLB playoffs.

The New York Mets were eliminated from the 2024 playoffs was a Game 6 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. Making the NLCS was the furthest the Mets have advanced in the postseason since going to the World Series in 2015.

Lindor issued somewhat of a challenge to others in the Mets clubhouse regarding how the team can build on all that it accomplished from the early days of June through October.

After a multi-hit performance in his previous game (2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI), Francisco Lindor will be looking for more success on Sunday. The New York Mets take on the Los Angeles Dodgers at 8:08 PM ET on Fox Sports 1. The clubs will match up in Game 6 of the NLCS with the Dodgers in front 3-2.
