Global powerhouse India have stunned world cricket by being razed for 46 by New Zealand’s pace bowlers on a grassy pitch in Bengaluru, a matter of weeks before they will face similar challenges against Pat Cummins’ team in Australia.

India's overall lowest, however, was recorded four years ago against Australia when they were shot out for a mere 36 at Adelaide.

India’s lowest-ever score in Test cricket at home remains 46, but their lowest score in away Tests is even lower. That record was set in December 2020, when they were dismissed for just 36 runs by Australia in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Adelaide—this also stands as India’s lowest test score in cricket overall.
