India will be the global production hub for Suzuki Motor's electric cars and it plans to export the vehicles back to Japan as well as other markets, such as Europe, despite a slowdown in sales of EVs,

Vitaara, Maruti Suzuki will be joining the league of domestic and global automakers who are betting big on the country’s growing EV opportunity, particularly in the SUV (sports utility vehicle) segment.

Suzuki Motor Corp. said that India will be the key export hub for its electric vehicles, hybrids, and small cars.

Automakers operating in India plan to launch close to a dozen new electric car models this year, many in the premium market, with longer driving ranges and faster charging times, to attract buyers as demand for EVs slows down globally.
