If you spend any time on TikTok, you've probably heard snippets of songs that sound like an alien consuming helium. This is called "nightcore" music and it's only getting more popular.

Nightcore originated in the early 2000s when a Norwegian DJ duo of the same name experimented with tempo and pitch in their remixes of electronic dance music.
