LiAngelo Ball watched younger brother LaMelo get upper hand over older brother Lonzo in Charlotte’s win against the Chicago Bulls.

There was a time not so long ago when LiAngelo Ball—from a public image standpoint—was overshadowed by his brothers LaMelo and Lonzo. LaMelo—Rookie of the Year for the Charlotte Hornets in 2021 and an All-Star in 2022—was the budding NBA star.

LiAngelo Ball, the rapper and brother of NBA players LaMelo and Lonzo, performed during a break in the action Saturday night at Ford Field.

Gelo's basketball career took him to Lithuania and Mexico, with stints in his father's short-lived JBA and the G League. He recently shifted focus to his music career, and already has a hit single with "Tweaker," which debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 29 last week.

After winning hearts on the internet with his song, LiAngelo Ball once again amazed the NBA community with a massive deal with Def Jam.

"LiAngelo Ball has signed a deal with Def Jam and Universal Music Group, a representative from his label Born2Ball Music Group says," Charania wrote. "Sources said the deal is worth as much as $13 million, with $8 million guaranteed, and gives Ball full ownership of music and his own record label."

In Friday’s game between the Chicago Bulls and the Charlotte Hornets, two Ball brothers faced each other on the court after over 1,000 days. The Bulls’ Lonzo Ball and his brother, LaMelo Ball went head-to-head in an epic NBA showdown.

Whenever Ball has the opportunity to return to his hometown of Los Angeles and play, it's special. That doesn't mean he needs to play for an L.A. team, but he won't rule it out, either. For now, he's just enjoying being healthy.
