NHL Trade Deadline has come and gone and some big names changed teams. Mikko Rantanen is a Dallas Star, Brad Marchand is a Florida Panther and the Colorado Avalanche loaded up with Brock Nelson and Charlie Coyle.

According to ESPN's Kevin Weekes, the Hurricanes had previously offered Rantanen a contract with an average annual value between $13-$14 million. A report from TSN's Darren Dreger notes the Stars are willing to go above $12 million AAV. Which means there's still a significant gap.
