While Howell has trended in the right direction, Brighton is looking to get back on track after losing two games in a row. The Bulldogs (6-4) had won six straight games before their losing streak.
Both Howell goals came in a four-minute, two-second span of the second period. Luke Storm scored with 6:50 left in the second and freshman Bryce Pietila scored with 2:48 remaining. It was the sixth goal of the season for Storm and the fifth for Pietila. Howell has 13 players with multiple goals.

In Rudyard Township, in the eastern Upper Peninsula, snowy owls make themselves at home in the winter. The township and the Michigan House passed resolutions calling the township the Snowy Owl Capital of Michigan — they even have a sign, so that makes it pretty official.

The district says Howell High School's DECA team had an impressive showing at the District 4 DECA Competition held at Eastern Michigan University.

Gordon Brothers, which calls itself a global asset expert, currently own Big Lots and is selling leases in 47 states across the country, including in Michigan.

On Wednesday, the matchups for the MIHL Prep Hockey Showcase were announced. The most prominent showcase during the high school hockey season in the state of Michigan, this year’s annual event will see 50 different teams come to partake in games over the three-day festivites, including several traditional powers from neighboring states.
Stevenson, the second-ranked team in Division 2, is the 11th team state-ranked Howell has faced during a 12-game unbeaten streak in which the Highlanders have gone 11-0-1. It’s their longest unbeaten streak since the 2008-09 team went 12-0-1 before losing in the state championship game.
