The Federal Aviation Administration says a private aircraft with eight people on board has crashed while taking off from Bangor International Airport in Maine.

The plane was a Bombardier Challenger, officials said. It crashed at around 7:45 p.m. Sunday.

The plane is registered to a limited liability corporation in Houston, according to federal records reviewed by CNN.
