Manchester United academy winger Bendito Mantato is set to commit his future to Old Trafford by signing his first professional contract with the club, according to reports. And the 17-year-old's senior debut could be imminent as Ruben Amorim looks for internal solutions in his mammoth rebuild amid financial restrictions.

But, remarkably, despite all this, Bruno remains a controversial figure for some critics. On Sunday, after the Leicester win, the player responded directly to comments made by legendary former United skipper Roy Keane, who has complained that Fernandes is “not a fighter” and questioned the 30-year-old’s captaincy style.

In terms of making goalscoring opportunities, Fernandes is the sixth-most productive player in the Premier League across the last 22 years. Averaging 2.84 chances created per 90 minutes, he is only behind some of the best, most imaginative players in the competition's history.
