PepsiCo and Dr Pepper have sold versions of their flagship sodas sweetened with cane sugar since 2009. Coca-Cola has sold Mexican Coke — which uses cane sugar — in the U.S. since 2005, but it’s positioned a trendy alternative and sold in glass bottles. Coke with cane sugar will likely be more widely available.

Coca-Cola's response was posted under a Fox News report of Trump's annoucement on X, formerly Twitter, which said: "President Donald Trump celebrates a new win for the 'MAHA' movement as Coca-Cola announces it's switching from artificial flavoring to real cane sugar—earning the president's praise as the popular drink gets a classic makeover."

Trump declared on Truth Social that Coca-Cola had "agreed" to switch from high-fructose corn syrup to cane sugar.
