Anthony Weaver has a 50% chance to be the next head coach of the New Orleans Saints per reports. Tuesday evening former Packers and Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy stated he is going to take the 2025 NFL season off and that he will not be the next head coach in New Orleans.

The drop-outs left Moore and Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver as the Saints' top candidates, and Moore has more coordinator experience despite being so young. He's spent six seasons as an offensive coordinator between three teams, regularly garnering head coaching interest over the years.

The fact that the Saints didn't hire a head coach on Wednesday greatly increases the chances that Kellen Moore will be the team's next head coach. Because if they were going to hire any of the other three candidates, they could have done it on Wednesday. The Saints cannot officially hire Kellen Moore until after the Super Bowl.
