Isolated rain showers will likely continue in some areas due to the northeast monsoon and shear line, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Sunday.

The northeast monsoon, or amihan, and the shear line, or the convergence point of hot and cold winds, will still cause rains over the northern and central parts of Luzon, state meteorologists said on Saturday.

Two weather systems will continue to bring cloudy conditions with rains over parts of Luzon, according to PAGASA's daily weather forecast on Saturday afternoon. Cloudy skies with rains may be expected over Batanes and Babuyan Islands due to the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan,

The northwest monsoon or "amihan" will affect Extreme Northern Luzon while a shear line could bring rain and thunderstorms to other parts of Northern and Central Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Saturday.
