The College Football Playoff continues on New Year's Day when (1) Oregon faces (8) Ohio State in the Rose Bowl. This is a rematch of one of the best games of the 2024 college football season when Oregon defeated Ohio State 32-31 on Oct. 12.

ESPN will air the majority of college football games on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, including the four College Football Playoff quarterfinal games. On New Year's Eve, ABC will carry the Citrus Bowl, as Illinois battles South Carolina. Later that afternoon, CBS will broadcast the Sun Bowl, with Louisville taking on Washington.

The eighth-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes battle the ninth-seeded Tennessee Volunteers in the first round of the College Football Playoff today. This game is available on multiple streaming services for free.
