Shooter Jennings recruited Waylon's old band mates to polish up the tunes. The first single, "Songbird" released on Father's Day, June 15 2025, which was also Waylon Jennings' birthday.

In 1991, Nelson and Jennings regrouped for one last album as Waylon & Wille, “Clean Shirt.” The two remained friends until Jennings’ death in Chandler, Arizona, on Feb. 13, 2002, at 64.
