The battery pack under the JCW models is the same 54.2-kilowatt-hour pack as other versions are equipped with. Mini claims 230 miles with the JCW Electric and 220 miles with the JCW Aceman on the WLTP cycle, which is far more optimistic than what the EPA range rating might be.

Mini is applying its John Cooper Works (JCW) performance badge to electric vehicles for the first time—and on two models simultaneously.

Getting straight to the point, the JCW Aceman features a single, front-mounted electric motor that’s good for 254bhp when in ‘Electric Boost’ mode. MINI is quoting a 0-62mph time of 6.3 seconds, 0.4 seconds behind the smaller and lighter Cooper, with a top speed of 124mph.

The latest electric Mini models, launched earlier this year, have now received the John Cooper Works treatment, upping the performance and adding a dose of sporting style.
